    The event is from 8AM-11AM at the EAA chapter 72 MLAA building at the Meadow Lake airport.

    There are 3 scheduled flight periods (8am, 8:45am, 9:30am). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your child's scheduled flight period. Go directly inside to the registration table to check in. There may be some waiting before your child's flight. Once your child's plane taxi's out, the average flight is 15 to 20 minutes. Please return to the registration desk after your child's flight to pick up their Young Eagles certificate.

    Be sure to also check out the flight simulator and get more details on all the extra's available through the EAA Young Eagles and AeroEducate Programs.

    Please DO NOT sign up your child to fly at this chapter more than once every six months. Thank you!

    You are returning from a lengthy cross-country flight and due to excessive winds at your planned refueling stop, you are low on fuel. You now need to transition Class B airspace to get to the closest destination where fuel is available.  How can you ensure you don't get routed around the airspace, and face the danger of fuel exhaustion?


    The IMC Question of the Month for August is:

    Runway incursions continue to be a top FAA safety concern. What are some of the tactics we can employ as pilots to help avoid runway incursions?

    Join EAA Chapter 72 for a fun evening of classic aviation cinema under the Colorado sky! We’ll gather outside in the MLAA Hangar at Meadow Lake Airport for food, fun, and a screening of the beloved aviation comedy Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines.

    Schedule

    • 6:00 PM – Hangar door opens
    • 6:30 PM – Food service begins
    • 7:30 PM – Movie starts
    • After the movie – Aviation trivia with prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place

    What’s On the Menu?

    • Burgers, hot dogs, and brats
    • Mini ice cream sandwiches
    • Fresh popcorn

    This is a perfect family-friendly evening that supports our chapter’s community events and youth programming. Bring the kids, enjoy great food, and celebrate the spirit of aviation together.

    Seating: Plastic chairs will be provided. If you’d like something more comfortable, you’re welcome to bring your own lawn chairs or blankets.
